Read the blog post: Inside the Grand Canyon: The Great Unconformity
Hiking 500 vertical feet in a half mile to the top of Deer Creek Fall was grueling in the mid-afternoon sun. But for me the most difficult part came at the top, where we encountered a 20-foot stretch of trail that was reduced to a 12-inch ledge 60 vertical feet above the canyon. After a couple of false starts and a little mental pep talk, I plastered my belly to the wall and scooted along the trail to safety. I was rewarded with views like this, down into the narrow slot canyon formed by Deer Creek on the way to its plunge over Deer Creek Fall and into the Colorado River.

Love all the colors and formations. Have always wanted to go down into the canyon. Took many trips there growing up but only got to see it from the top. Even that was amazing!
