Twilight Moonrise, El Capitan and Half Dome, Yosemite

As I refine my technique for predicting the moon’s appearance above Yosemite Valley, I keep identifying new locations for photographing it. This time I assembled my workshop group on a sloping slab of granite on Turtleback Dome’s northeast flank. From there we all watched the moon peek from behind Half Dome a little before sunset, and ascend slowly into the deepening twilight.
