The first half of the short trip up narrow Matkatamiba Canyon was a an easy hike up a shallow creek. But about halfway up we encountered a small waterfall surrounded by slippery walls that made reaching the top section of the canyon much more challenging. Those of us who made it this far were rewarded with twisting channels and colorful rocks just begging to be photographed.
