The Grand Canyon without light pretty much a black hole. In this image I was able to use my camera’s ability to accumulate light over a long exposure to bring out detail and color my eyes couldn’t see. Set up on a tripod my terrestrial world was fixed, but Earth’s rotation moves the stars for the duration of the exposure. But even more satisfying than the image was simply sitting on the canyon’s rim in silence only broken by nature’s subtle sounds, basking in the light of what felt like a trillion stars.
